Snow Removal Vehicle Maintenance Shop & Salt/Sand Storage Facility was an expansion of the Norfolk International Airport complex to provide storage space and maintenance facilities for the snow removal heavy equipment and vehicles. The project included two pre-engineered steel structures: one to house the administration, vehicle storage and maintenance bays; and, a structure to house bays for the storage of ice, sand and other critical chemicals.

This highly industrial structure is located in the air side of the small regional airport supporting southwest Virginia. Materials and architecture were selected to be economically compatible with the new terminal structure.

Renovation and restoration of a 1,500 vehicle parking garage that had suffered significant structural failure of precast concrete façade panels.

This project was a design build project with Kjellstrom & Lee Contractors and was constructed to be compatible with the adjacent SunTrust Bank administrative office building.

In collaboration with Gresham Smith & Partners, we were the associate architects responsible for the design of two parking decks sharing a common access to the main terminal, separated by a landscaped plaza with a fountain.

Constructed at the height of the 9/11 tragedy along the perimeter wall of the airport, this project implemented many of the newly required security demands established by the TSA, the Department of Transportation and the FAA. The covered two-story parking structure holds spaces for 400 vehicles.

Project entailed renovating homes throughout the Barton Heights community in the Northside of Richmond to increase the stock of affordable but attractive homes. Renovations included substantial upgrades in equipment and appliances, new finishes, exterior treatments and energy efficiency. Additionally, KEi developed new model units for construction on vacant sites in the community.
